Hiringa's inquiry learning...

This term the Year 5 and 6s in Whanau Hiringa are learning about rubbish.  Our question is "Are we throwing away our future?"  We have researching things like pollution, rubbish and more.  Here are of the things they have though about...

  • gyres
  • rubbish islands
  • recycling
and much more!


Each child in Hiringa is involved in a project that is either independent or in a group to help or experiment for the survival of the beautiful earth we live on now.

Kakapo market

Some classes from Whanau Whetu recently held a lunchtime market to raise money for the endangered kakapo, as part of their CIB learning.
